A Decentralized Scheduling Algorithm for Time Synchronized Channel Hopping - (Invited Paper)
نویسندگان
چکیده
Time Synchronized Channel Hopping (TSCH) is an existing medium access control scheme which enables robust communication through channel hopping and high data rates through synchronization. It is based on a time-slotted architecture, and its correct functioning depends on a schedule which is typically computed by a central node. This paper presents, to our knowledge, the first scheduling algorithm for TSCH networks which both is distributed and which copes with a mobile nodes. Two scheduling algorithms are presented. Aloha-based scheduling allocates one frequency channel for broadcasting advertisements for new neighbors. Reservation-based scheduling augments Aloha-based scheduling with a dedicated slot for targeted advertisements based on gossip information. A mobile ad-hoc network with frequent connectivity changes is simulated, and the performance of the two proposed algorithms is assessed against the optimal case. Reservation-based scheduling performs significantly better than Aloha-based scheduling, suggesting that the improved network reactivity is worth the increased algorithmic complexity and resource consumption.

متن کاملA MULTI-OBJECTIVE DECENTRALIZED MULTIPLE CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS SCHEDULING PROBLEM CONSIDERING PERIODIC SERVICES AND ORDERING POLICIES
In decentralized construction projects, costs are mostly related to investment, material, holding, logistics, and other minor costs for implementation. For this reason, simultaneous planning of these items and appropriate scheduling of activities can significantly reduce the total costs of the project undertaken. This paper investigates the decentralized multiple construction projects schedulin...
متن کاملplexi: Adaptive re-scheduling web-service of time synchronized low-power wireless networks
Industrial IoT applications require highly dependable monitoring and actuation capabilities of remote interoperable low power devices. Time scheduling with channel hopping has been a well attested mechanism to address these requirements in volatile environments. Yet, scheduling algorithms to date are not adaptive enough to changes in deployed applications and their environments. plexi is a rest...
متن کاملDevelopment of a Genetic Algorithm for Advertising Time Allocation Problems
Commercial advertising is the main source of income for TV channels and allocation of advertising time slots for maximizing broadcasting revenues is the major problem faced by TV channel planners. In this paper, the problem of scheduling advertisements on prime-time of a TV channel is considered. The problem is formulated as a multi-unit combinatorial auction based mathematical model. This is a...
متن کاملSelf-learning and adaptive scheme for Supporting periodic Multi-flows in Wireless Sensor Networks
In this research report we propose a novel decentralized and self-learning framework to support both communication reliability and energy-efficiency for periodic traffic applications in WSNs. Our autonomous approach comprises there main components: estimation and identification of the flows, asynchronous channel hopping and local dynamic multiple sleep states scheduling. We also propose a light...
